A dedicated and accomplished scholar, Saree Kayne is currently a doctoral student in the field of cultural anthropology at Stanford University. Her research concerns how the culture of the International Olympic Committee influences the production of the Olympic Games. As part of her research, she will attend the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Saree Kayne earned her BA with honors from the University of Chicago, where she undertook interdisciplinary studies in the humanities. She was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
In addition to her academic achievements, Saree Kayne participated in several internship programs. Most recently, she interned at KCRW, a public radio station in Santa Monica, California, where she contributed to the blog Which Way, L.A. At Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, she provided support for a portfolio manager and head analyst. She also interned at former Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Manhattan office and assisted constituents with questions and concerns about Social Security, education, and housing.
In her free time, Saree Kayne regularly rides horses and participates in show jumping competitions. She is also an avid and experienced traveler and has visited New Zealand, South Africa, Patagonia, and Japan, among many other destinations.
